Ugh
I love that Bernie initially made his fortunes by selling something he didn't own, and nobody seems to say anything about it.
From the description of the house: "...several gift-wrapping rooms..."
I don't understand rich people.
I liked how the seller is downsizing to a place that is only 16,000 square feet. Must only have one gift wrapping room and the flower cutting room is out back in the yard.
How did Bernia make his fortune?
if i've got the story right, bernie was the guy who came up with the idea of providing at-track services to the teams, things like food and race fuel. a middle-man, if you will.

Seriously, if any of us got that rich, we would be at our desks ignoring our work while typing:
"OK guys, I can get a F50 for $x or a F1 for $y and I want to take it on a cross country trip to get as many penalty laps in as many Lemons races as possible..."

That is kinda what I am getting at.
Effectively, Bernie convinced the TV stations that they needed to pay for the broadcasting rights to Formula 1 (something that nobody had previously paid for). At the time, Ecclestone was team boss of Brabham and appointed himself as the "owner" of said broadcasting rights. He now distributes a portion of that rights money to the teams, but keeps a HUGE chunk of it for himself.
