With the large amount of snow we got here in the north east we have limited amounts of room for everything. Cars, pedestrians, etc. This limited amount of space also includes a lack of space for dogs to do there business. My dog has a preferred place out behind my shed adjacent to the road quite far from my house. It has actually become a place where other dogs will also mark as well. Kind of a dog communication central if you will. I have told other owners that I don't mind the dogs "going" there just that if it is #2 please pick it up and dispose of it as we don't want piles of dog #2 by the street. To date I have had zero problems.

I try to keep the "dog communication zone" clear of snow. It is a patch about 10' x 15 feet adjacent to the entrance to my driveway. If for no other reason it keeps my dog happy and makes seeing out of our driveway easier as the bank is moved back. Well I had cleared it as part of my major driveway clearing on Tuesday afternoon but we got another 6 inches of snow that night and when I went to clear it again on Wednesday I noted that it had been used (5-7 areas of yellow snow) No big deal I just hit it with the snow blower and inadvertently all this "marked" snow was tossed up on the 6 foot banks further down the street as well as out in the street. (My snow blower can throw snow up to 50 feet if you get the proper density of snow.) Now every dog owner I see walking there dog has to fight with there dogs as the complete wig out and start circling the road and try to jump into or climb up the snow banks. Some really funny scenes have unfolded. One owner had to climb up the bank as there dog got stuck on the other side in the 3-4 feet of power and could not climb back out over the bank. The worst part is that both the dogs and there owners are now climbing around in a fine mist of crystalized yellow snow. There was no intent on my part here. I was just keeping the "area" clear. I had one of the EHUUUUUUUUUUUU moments watching / thinking about this.

If you really want to freak someone out, stuff a milk jug full of nice, blood red ATF into a snowbank that someone is going to run their snowblower through.

It should like like something from Fargo when they're done...

I discovered that my snowblower is quite good at displacing miniature donkey poop, which resulted in the dog running around collecting poopsicles.
