Mine was damn near perfect. The weather was beautiful. Nice enough to have Thanksgiving dinner outside at the picnic tables. 29 family members got together, ate entirely too much food, made 90 pounds of liver pudding, collected buckets of pecans and shelled 80 pounds of them, watched some football, exploded some Tannerite, got a little mud on the tires, and just generally had a grand old time before going our separate ways.

Needless to say, I'm thankful for family that can work and play together.

Ate LOTS of Pie!!!! If I just stopped there it would have been great!!!

But I got motovated today and banged out a couple minor electrical fix's around the house resulting in the lights in the Living room now working (needed a new switch) and the outside light by the back door now works (got a new socket)

Next up is a motion sensor for the big flood light in the driveway!!!!!

Thanksgiving was good this year. My sister makes the best pies and the time spent with family and friends was fun and (mostly) drama free.

That is the best part. My family doesn't do drama. We don't fight, we don't tell each other how to live or act. After watching my wife's family, it's kind of amazing.

The only raised voice the entire weekend was my Mother, yelling at the TV, during the Clemson/Carolina game. Clemson wasn't trying hard enough for her.

Spent mine recuperating from a week with our 3 grandkids, ages 3, 4 & 5. The 4 & 5 y/of left Friday afternoon. The 3 y/o is local but stayed at his house. They wore me out, to much energy. But was great anyway. That's why grandkids are are great, they go home to their house. My job is to spoil and teach them bad habits.

Thanksgiving was good, the weekend after was not, worst stomach flu ever. I'll spare the gory details but I was nearly passing out in the shower right after it first hit me and I lost 5lbs. As in I'm about over it now and started eating and drinking substantial amounts of water again last night and I'm 5lbs lighter.

Reasonably good. After getting home from work Weds night, I barely left the house until yesterday morning. Managed to clean up and sell some old bike parts. Got a good mtn bike ride in yesterday. Unfortunately, made no progress on any of the car or house projects.

Now back at work trying to understand why the blasted architect specified a 120V light in a 277V building... (grumble...)

Went well. My wife and I hosted for the first time. I like to think of myself as the master of chicken wings, but I had never cooked a turkey before. Found a brine on google, and soaked that bird for 14 hours. Came out moist, with good flavor. Darn happy about that. Took longer to cook than I expected though, and I had allowed for extra time.

Only left the couch on Turkey Day to take the dog outside. Made a roast beast in the crockpot, binged watched Agents of Shield all freaking day. Not too bad. (Then supported my local vintage toy stores on Small Biz Saturday)

My family doesn't do drama. My wife's family is nothing but. So we had a drama-free Wednesday night and Thursday morning with her family, followed by a drama-free turkey day with my family, and then just about as soon as we got in her house Thursday night she was packing her bags and ready to go back home because she was so pissed at her brother.

I visited Angle Island (West Coast version of Ellis Island) for the first time. Visibility was perfect which is unusual for the San Francisco Bay area so the views of the Golden Gate Bridge, downtown, etc. were incredible.

In terms of family dynamics, everyone gets along well except my Mother in Law is a challenge as she’s controlling, opinionated, and has a history of spewing hurtful rhetoric. Unfortunately, she out did herself this year but what are you going to do.

It was awesome. Spent it in Disney World with my wife and kids. My first time seeing Disney decked out for Christmas and it was incredible. We had a great time. We ordered a pre-cooked Thanksgiving dinner from the Publix grocery store, so after our day of hitting the parks, we just had to heat up the turkey and sides, sit down, pig out and watch football. Heaven.
