Hope you guys in the NE stay safe.
It's still pretty nice on Cape Cod now. I'll tie the boat up a little differently but that's about it. Unfortunately my bilge pump decided to not work, but glad I caught it before the storm.

That's an excellent autocorrect. I was tempted to not fix it.
House is all set for the storm. Boat has extra lines in different places, hanging plants are down, things that can blow away are secure. Wind is Supposed to start from the east and gradually turn to the south, so normal storm stuff, and our dock and land are well suited for it. We have 2 generators. New bilge pump installed and working well, despite lots of fussing today (turned out to be corroded connecstions). Let's see what it looks like in the morning.
Central NH should be far enough north that the wind won’t be a big factor but just to be sure I put some extra lines on the Whaler this afternoon to be sure it can’t get pushed up against the dock. Back in MA now, we have some gas for the generator and may grab some more tomorrow morning once we know more about the actual track. Our friends on Long Island and coastal Connecticut look like they will be feeling the most effects from this storm.

I my not be reading that map correctly, but should not the arrow be pointing at about the top of the blue on the west side of red area?
My sister was down to Cackalacky a few weeks ago, and I was joking with her about how at least they don't get hurricanes.
She texted me to tell me she hates me more than ever now.
Stay safe, you guys.
It looks like there has been a lot of downplay to the threat. No longer Hurricane, just Tropical Storm warning.
Yesterday, I was traveling West on the Ohio Turnpike about 4pm. There were significant convoys of storm chasing, Electrical Line Worker trucks heading East.
I'm on the east side of the storm. So far, it's just a typical crappy day with random downpours and slightly gusty wind. Business is supposed to pick up later, but I'm hoping winds stay low. When the storm spirals back around later today into tomorrow, we are going to get some steady rain, which we really don't need. It has basically rained all summer here, so there will be flooding. Stay safe out there!
We're in central RI, and experiencing 40-50 mph wind gusts and occasional heavy showers. We just lost power. Our son and his family are vacationing on Block Island, around 50 miles south of here. He said the sun is out and it's beautiful there.

11GTCS needs to ask what year your ‘17 Whaler is and also about the flooring? # threadjack.
My biggest worry is hail. I only have inside storage (The Toilet) for one car and the 914 is in there. That leaves 5 cars outside, none of which I would like to see damaged.
I had a 1999 Subaru 2.5RS that got hail damage. It was such a nice car prior, then it was a pockmarked golf ball looking POS. It was still fast though until a Chevy Astro folded the frame.
I lived and worked in Westerly RI 2002-2004. Just texted my old boss and he said it's sunny and breezy this afternoon. Sounds like a pretty good outcome for a hurricane.
