I get home today and find two largish boxes waiting for me. One makes me giddy as a school boy, the other fills my heart with trepidation.
I'll go with the scary one first. A box of timing belt stuff for the TDI was waiting for me. Since it's a German car built after WWII I'm terrified to work in it. I'm convinced that German cars are the revenge for the U.S. kicking some German butt in dubya-dubya-too. So that's Saturday's fun project.
The box that made me giddy was a Parasound monoblock amplifier. It's a match to the one I already have and will be coupled with it's brother to power the subwoofer I'm designing. The new sub will be a few weeks, maybe more.
Goof luck on the vw, ive always liked them, but been afraid of the reputation. Also, I got to put together a crappy ladder stand thing that was in a box on the porch tonite, yay.
I liked 1st gen Rabbits, and Scirrocos
I got boxes today too. All of them made me happy. Kelty, Acadia 4 man tent with footprint, Texsport, XXX fat bastard, giant cot, and a potato masher for the next round of jams.
Good luck with the timing belt and don't forget the build thread on sub.
I got a box today too!
32 lug nuts
2 panoramic mirrors
And 3 boxes of hose clamps that were on clearance.

mine dropped off some very much needed books. Hopefully tomorrow he will be dropping off a very much needed replacement to my broken Gerber
I should have a box waiting for me tonight with a removable door marine hatch, 11"x15" in snow white for the start of my battery relocation in the little sail boat. The box with the small round deck plate that will act as a receptacle mount should be here Friday. After some cuttin' and fittin' there will probably be boxes with 6awg marine wire and terminals that I will then fish through the hull.
MM, that rminds me, I need to send off my Kershaw Cryo to have the pocket clip replaced....

i'll do a build thread for sure. The design phase is much harder than I ever would have thought.
my new Gerber Strata came today as promised. Sweet little multi-tool that is far and away better than the old suspension I have been carrying at work these past couple of years.
Also been working on my boat.. (not today, I worked and it was far too cold out there)
Sailing into Madness, or how I learned to love the refit
Parts for the double VANOS service on the Übersaloon have started showing up. I'm not looking forward to that job.

Is the timing belt for your '03? Not too hard if you have the metalnerd tool set.
I have all UPS deliveries shipped to me at work. The regular driver knows me by name and where my cubicle is. A couple of days ago I recieved a box of (6) Hercules guitar wall-hangers.
About half of my stuff is sent to the office since I KNOW there will be someone there to receive it and if not they won't leave it.
Got two boxes in yesterday- one a ballot box for taking donations for my wife's non-profit and the other with a bag of cat food and self-adhesive labels.

As long as you have all the tools (and hopefully vcds so you can set the timing after its all put back togetber), its probably not a terrible job. Make sure all the rollers, bearings etc are not Chinese either, a lot of those won't make it another 100k miles.
