Why? Because they'll never get to experience the awesomeness that was Supermarionation. Most people know this best as the weird puppets used in "Thunderbirds," but I actually came up watching "Stingray", "Thunderbirds"'s predecessor, which was soooo much better because "anything can happen in the next half hour!"
Margie
I remember watching those... only the best!
Sure but do the Stingrays know how to rock out?

I watched Adam West as Batman. About the same level of emoting as puppets.
Tune in next week, same bat-time, same bat-channel!

"No Gary, I'm not going to berkeley your mouth."
Fireball XL-5 was my show of choice...
I liked Gerry Andersons live series as well- UFO, and of course, Space 1999. (Ignoring the time/speed problem of the moon making it to other solar systems, but not going so fast that they couldn't spend an hour dealing with mean alien types.) I always liked the utterly emotionless Martin Landau and Barbara Bain characters. Basic rehash of their Mission:Impossible style.
"Durka durka?"
"Ah durka durka, Muhammad jihad."
Oh Blah blah blah, Margie. I was doing that Blond Bobblehead from Supercar before you were born!
Damn, now I've got that song stck in m head. In my head, in my head, in my head.....

Okay. Going to my happy place now.
As a little kid I just assumed Thunderbirds was an American series as that's where all cool sci-fi came from!! When I moved here and found that no one had ever heard of it I was amazed.
Oh, Marjorie, no matter what you think Thunderbirds was about a million times better than Stingray.
From the same crew as Thunderbirds and Stingray, what about 'Space 1999', not Supermarionation, but I loved that show as a kid too.
I remember watching space 1999 too... I thought it was a good show!
I'm old enough to have seen the original Superman tv series, in syndication, tho, and now Smallville.
In the "original" Superman he almost never was shown doing any flying except from the side. While in Smallville, Superman chases down private jets and busts in the doors.
The thing I liked about Thunderbirds and Stingray was not just the head bobbing....but the REALLY SLOOOOOW eye blinks, and of course the futuristic cars.
Ultraman, anyone?
