Stock they start out up to 102 horsepower less or even greater loss if you wind up with a 305. Power wise the 454 put out 230 horsepower. SAE net. Compared to 262 DIN net 299 Euro spec. 314 for the 6.0 ( multiply times 1.00139 for SAE numbers). Yes a newer LS starts out at 330 SAE net and can be 100 pounds lighter. But about the same time Jaguar stopped making the V12.
Awesome. I wish I could give you more than one up-vote. Only thing: shouldn't this be 10 pages?
Just wanted to give just a taste of my skills

There is a good 3 part series on the stock EFI For the V12 on U tube. With regard to horsepower, Your comparison with the Chevy and Jaguar isn’t correct. One is gross or advertised horsepower while the other is DIN net horsepower. Rated under the new net horsepower ratings complying with current smog rules etc. 400 horsepower in a Corvette engine turned into 160 horsepower or less. When Corvettes were saddled with 160 horsepower the Jaguar V12 made 264 in California and 289 everywhere else. Later making 299 and the 6.0 came out with 314. Keeping the V12 running is a matter of counting on two hands and two feet can you count to 12? Open up the V12 with 100k miles and you will see a engine like from top fuel dragster. 6 bolt mains 34 headstud and the cylinder walls will look brand new.
A modern LS V8 can make more power than the V12 but that Chevy is like belly buttons. Everyone’s got one. The person who puts the most money into his Chevy LS. Yawn! What’s new? I don't hate Chevy I've owned 11 of them one to 300k miles! I even raced a Corvette. I get quality race parts in a V12. Parts that will cost you more for a Chevy. They are cheap! I paid as much as $300 for most of the V12’s I bought. At one time I had 50 V12 in my garage. Never pay more than $500 for one. If power is what you're looking for then the V12 can do that cheaper than a Chevy big block. Remove intake snorkels for 28 horsepower. Remove mufflers for another 20. For big power its simple. Offset grind the crankshaft and combine with increasing the cylinder sleeve you can take the V12 from 326 inches to 430. I did it in 1980 for just $200 including rehardening the crank. I used a verticle drill press and a jig. After a morning of work my sleeves were 96mm. Buy Chevy pistons for $63 each and narrow the rods to fit. E85 is another 10% power. Turbo and e85 can make 500 horsepower for $500. My chump car had two junkyard saab t2's tucked between the fender and inner fender panel. Isky cams, bigger injectors from gm atlas engine (gm bought atlas engine design from jaguar, I can't prove that). Fuel use e85. 85% ethanol alcohol is all the cooling required on a twin turbo V12. No need for lag inducing intercoolers. Use a FMU to trick the early Bosch system into giving you more fuel under boost.

ummmmm, Maybe?
This place is full of people with issues.
Pot, kettle...
I'm the frying pan.
Nobody will admit to being the Dutch Oven.
Oh, no. This is starting to look like that time I started the quote of a quote in some random thread.
That went out of control real quickly. I learned a lot about my fellow forum members from that.
Margie, I'm not responsible for this one. Well, not very much anyway.
Who can blame us? We're bored and stir crazy, just look at the injury thread to see everyone currently laid up.
No thanks. I just posted in the injury thread, but I'm not looking at the injury thread.
I'm pretty sure I got the ball rolling on 2 of the 3 times we tried to break the interballs. Maybe all 3. When I'm focused, I'm dangerous.
Is that like the movie Spaceballs?
As a mod I feel like it's important to keep on top of these types of threads. Just in case.
And we thank you!
TH it's broken my phone at least. hh
Not broken on the Laptop. Can it continue?
You know, when the formatting is so screwed up I can't tell the innocent from the guilty, I have to assume everyone is guilty. Time for y'all to resume your (ab)normal lives.
