Great idea, probably won't fly. There are way too many 10+ year old cars in this fine state. As much as it might make transfers easier, the taxes on older cars with lower sales prices are correspondingly lower and usually not what would prevent a purchase. The aggregate of all of these sales is likely significant. That having been said, I would love to have this sent here and bought without sales tax:

I once got a car for free (thanks John Brown), and when I went to title it, the Sec of State said "The State of Michigan does not recognize automobiles as gifts" and required me to pay 6 dollars in tax...
