VW Type 3 Fastback for me. Yet somehow I could always beat my friend through the twisties in his IRS VW fastback. He did have horrible tires on his though.

Now, do keep in ind the Mercedes swing axles of the time were not like a VW with the roll center right in the axle centerline, the pivot was below the axles, making them a lot safer(or so the interwebs tell me).

I think that does help mitigate the issue. But it also reminds me of my impression that Spitfire guys try to run their cars low more or less to try to remain low enough that the jacking doesn't reach a tipping point where there's enough jacking already happened to reduce the cornering force needed drastically to finish the jacking and create really nasty tire angles...
