I'd buy this: http://bringatrailer.com/2012/08/24/406-power-1962-ford-galaxie-500-with-nascar-ties/

That's gorgeous.
Last time I spent thirty grand was to put my own berkeleying ankle back together, so no hot rods in the budget right now, but a two door manual Galaxie would be near the top of the list for sure.
I must be getting old, because I have a tough time justifying that vs. a '12 Mustang GT or V6 convertible, for similar coin.
This just about pushes all my buttons....

Doesn't matter so much for what car except what I put under it.
Find something suitably old and possibly ugly, spend the money on updating the suspension, brakes, tires, drop a lightly built modern small block(or one of these nasty V6s that are floating around) and a 6 speed manual and enjoy the hell out of my car.
I will be making this exact decision sometime this week. Looks like my $ will be going towards a new Prius for the wife. Sweeeeeet!!!
This is doing some nice things for me...

I have wanted to do this.
Though in this instance I would take a GN with some upgrades.

I am so happy my wife wanted a 325 wagon. I'm not sure I could write that check for the excitement equivalent of a new clothes washer. It might be better to just get a divorce attorney. I mean - sure it will be more expensive in the long run but... you can drive whatever you want with the couple bucks you have left :)
If I had to spend that much right now I'd be all over one of these:
I see plenty of them for sale that could be had for $30k.

Yep, this. Even over the Corvette which is likely to be faster, because these are more fun. Keeping the Corvette going where you want, when driving it hard, is work. These can be tossed into a corner with gay abandon.

Yup, me too hands down. I'd figure out how to get my corpulent frame in there. But make mine red with the Sport package, please.

I know $30 gets you deep into Vette and Boxster country, but Id rather spend $15-$20k on the car, and throw another $10k at suspension, tires, and hop up bits, and have a baller-ass daily that could actually approach practicality for commuting, and also behave reasonably at the autox/track.
Since I drive by it every day, I've had evil thoughts about this car:

I know its not the most loved 911, but in black... with the aero kit... I like it. I'd try to get them down a few $k and put the money towards winter and track wheels.
