and I don't care if it's Amsterdam, Colorado, Vancouver or Seattle, don't try to hide the fact and reason you're going by starting a thread inquiring about other things to do when high as berkeley. Just start a thread asking recommendations for things to do when stoned out of your mind in an environment where it's legal. My personal recommendations are live music, art museums and good local food.
I hope that pot becomes legal across the US so that Colorado can be associated with other things again. It's really annoying.
I'm answering for a "friend" who just spent some time in Jamaica. He suggests floating on your back in the Caribbean listening to a Reggae band blasting from the cabana by the pool and then horking on some jerk chicken.

They do still make some great craft beer out there.
Not that there is any shortage of pot smoking in the craft brewing industry.

Serious question: Do people actually go on vacation to smoke weed? That seems... strange.

Think of people that go on vacations to run a marathon or skydive. They could do it all the time where they are, but they go somewhere special for the differences in experience. Same kind of idea.
That said, make friends with the chefs if you're staying at a resort in Jamaica, they will cook whatever you catch on fishing trips, which makes for a great night.

Do people go on vacation to drink various wines?
Same rules apply.
For some who enjoy cannabis, but live in an area where it's prohibited, the allure of being able to walk into a retail outlet and buy the strain of your choosing and then being able to enjoy it without fear of legal dramas is pretty darn appealing.

Is it legal in Australia?

Like school shootings and John Denver?
In reply to Nick (Bo) Comstock:
Nah mate, unfortunately not, we're still too backwards to wake up to the fact that legal and taxed cannabis makes far more sense than the current prohibition model.....
Attitudes are changing slowly, glacially slowly
Some people use their vacations to stand in a parking lot while weapons of math deduction flail around at speed dusting the entire region with tetanus and transmission fluid. If you want to go get baked I wholeheartedly support your choice.

Most of the dope smokers I know lack motivation...to do anything.
If this is directed at my Colorado thread, all I'll say is that your assumption about my intended vacation activities is fundamentally incorrect.
I went to Colorado to smoke weed once. 1980 camping trip. Technically I didn't go "to" Colorado to smoke weed but in reality I smoked weed on the way there , in Colorado, and on the way home.
Hell, I smoked weed for all of 1980 for that matter. How do you think I ended up buying a Datsun 310? I was probably high.
I have no problem with people coming to CO to smoke weed. Heck, it's good for the economy. I just long for the days when saying "I'm from Colorado" didn't automatically get the "hey, pot is legal there!" response.
John Denver was from New Mexico
He didn't say he was from there, he said he is associated with there. Only a pot smoker will grapple with the distinction.
I was gonna buy some parts for my truck, but then I got high. I was gonna squirrel money away, but then I got high. I ended up buying a cross between an S10 and a Valiant, and I know why. It's cause I got high, 'cause I got high, 'cause I got high.
In reply to Keith Tanner:
Then why the hell is he singing about West Virginia? Must have been a very geographically confused individual
Maybe assuming someone is going to a specific location just to use a recreational drug when they mention nothing of the sort doesn't make you any better than the person who would "lie" about their intentions of visiting said location.

My wife is a CO native, do NOT get her started on John Denver
In reply to 02Pilot:
It was in jest to it and the Vancouver thread. Also see previous mole threads.
I don't know who John Denver is, but a fraudster named John Deutschendorf recorded a song he did not write about WV. This song is the official, overplayed, schmaltzy, sacred hymn of WV and if I never heard it again I would be quite happy. Actually, I'd be OK if that dude's whole catalog disappeared. As far as I'm concerned, his appearance on The Muppet Show was his only worthwhile contribution... may he rest in peace. Always refuel when necessary.
