Yep, that was my bad. Was intended to be a "holy *&%^$!" look what just happened thread. In retrospect, seems the spiral to a political (or worse) discussion was fairly inevitable. Feel like a puppy that peed on the rug. Sorry!

I don't have a problem with Taco Hell, but i don't go there anymore now that i've discovered Red Burrito. The fact that they're always attached to a Hardee's makes it that much better.

I understand that. I was one of the posters in the banned thread. It was the first time I'd stepped into a political thread for a long long time, possibly over a year as I tend to avoid them. But in retrospect it was the right thing to lock it. I was posting, not even thinking about it being a political argument. I got caught up in the 'people can't really think this way can they?' mind set. Based on that I can see how easily these threads could spiral out of control. I'm fin with the threatened banning and will now go and chastise myself for having been a part of it.

P.S. just please please please leave the ‘good god almighty’ thread if we promise to be only slightly naughty boys?

If that's the case, my time on GRM will be significantly curtailed. Especially because the GRM section is about 1 million times more boring than it used to be. I'd hazard a guess that your site views will decrease dramatically, which sort of defeats the purpose of companies wanting to advertise. Significantly worse goes on @ forums like NASIOC, and they have TONS of vendors/advertisers.

I still enjoy the people, but man, this sucks. You learn a lot. Why not just annoint a couple of the unwashed masses off the forum as mods? Thats basically the defacto standard for forums...
