This explains why so may FIBs are in Wisconsin on any given summer weekend.

IDK, the historical record shows that every 8-10 years Indianapolis goes batE36 M3 nuts.....I see that as a group of thugs following in their parents footsteps(who did stupid E36 M3 and were locked up/killed)
Ya'll are making Florida sound better and better. 6% sales tax, no tax on cars, smooth if boring roads, low tax rates on houses, beaches and really good fishing. OK, gov services suck, there can be language problems not found in the Frozen Northland, but we get year round racing and have some killer tracks. And a really cool magazine is up the road.

Sorry, your weather sucks. Yes, I would rather have Illinois weather than Florida weather.
I will gladly trade an occasional windstorm for 6 months of cloudy, cold, nastiness and three months of snow. Oh, no road salt either. Forgot to mention that. You really do get used to the heat and humidity, just takes a few years.

Something to do with not paying a ticket for like 3 years or some BS. Suspended my license from 2006-2010. Weird crap... I dunno, I have no desire to go there. Ohio's better than both. why? Only bad part about Ohio are the staties. I'd move to Michigan if the insurance wasn't such a giant dickpain, and the roads were better than Ohio.
Come to Michigan, we have cheap land, active rally cross, and all the road salt you can eat
And our Bells Beer is better....

I'd like to give that a try.

The vast majority of the roads in Illinois are boring too. At least the roads are flat, well paved, and not full of potholes in Florida. If I were to move it would probably be to Colorado to work with Keith
I do not see what people have against Heat... I survive very well in 100 degree days without Air con
mad_machine wrote: I do not see what people have against Heat... I survive very well in 100 degree days without Air con
Mostly it's for show. I lived in Syracuse NY and there were plenty of 100+ days. Everyone goes "ooo, how do you like that awful heat in South Carolina!" - but it's really not that much different. There are more hot days, but not hotter hot days. Even so, they're just jealous, this is the best place to live I've found yet.
mad_machine wrote: I do not see what people have against Heat... I survive very well in 100 degree days without Air con
I survive very well in that heat. Used to caddy 36 holes with 2 bags in over 100* with 100% humidity. Doesn't mean that I like it.
Can you go all day in 55* "cold" with just a long sleeve T shirt?

I lived in CO for 2 years. Recently got an offer to move back out there... not really sure I would take my friend up on the offer. It was absolutely gorgeous(in the middle of the state), but there is NOTHING outside of Denver for like 500 miles. Kind of expensive, too. Gas sucks.
In reply to Gearheadotaku:
Don't tempt me. I already work here. I love to play up north.
Florida's pretty intriguing but I liken it to a mini-Australia(in terms of everything wanting to kill you).
In regards to heat.... I lived in Phoenix for 6 months during the summer. NEVER. AGAIN. I can survive is swampy ass northwest Ohio/SE MI year round without A/C in a car. At home, it's a must have though, if only because of the humidity at night/early AM.
I just punched in Orlando, Florida and Pekin, Illinois for a climatology comparison on weather.com.
Monthly averages. (P for Pekin, O for Orlando)
High:
P= 33, 38, 50, 63, 73, 82, 86, 84, 77, 65, 50, 36
O= 71, 74, 78, 83, 88, 91, 92, 92, 90, 85, 79, 73
Low:
P= 17, 21, 31, 42, 52, 61, 66, 64, 55, 44, 33, 21
O= 49, 52, 56, 60, 66, 72, 74, 74, 73, 66, 59, 52
Now for the shocker; record highs by month:
P= 71, 74, 87, 92, 104, 105, 113, 106, 104, 93, 81, 71
O= 87, 90, 92, 96, 100, 100, 101, 100, 98, 95, 89, 90
I know, I know, humidity. It's pretty damn humid here too. Not to mention Central Illinois is an entry-level motor sports dead zone.
berkeley Illinois. If I had the funds and a job down there, we'd be moving.

but $6 for an inner tube ? life jacket to ride in an inner tube ?

I'm not going to let this slide. That's Pennsylvania beer. Not even close to the Ohio border.
You can go back to how all the other states suck now.

His point is that you can buy Yuengling in Ohio, but not Indiana or Illinois.

Nope. I have a generally low opinion of those who tube. They usually leave beer cans floating in the water for me to clean up. Scum bags.

As a member of the Frozen North club- berkeley this weather. I hate needing two sets of tires for every damn car I own and not knowing what's going to destroy it next. Gimme Florida weather any day.

why do you need two sets of tires? they make these things called "all season radials" these days... you should look into them..
Ah...here comes the, "I can drive mah Camaro all winter without needin' snow tires, you poosay!" bit.
Can you? Maybe. Is it much easier and more fun with snows? You bet your ass it is.
