One of my cars is going to a fellow board member this weekend and I'm feeling like a bad PO. I didn't do anything bad to the car per se, I just neglected it and it's in worse shape than it should be in. I also use the "set it on the floor and don't kick it" method of organization in my garage for projects, and we've got to wander around and get a bunch of parts for him to take with the car. I can't clean it up because then I'll lose things, so I just have to tell him not to kick stuff. It's like a garage version of hoarders.
Anyway, just feeling like a terrible PO and there is a significant chance that I'll be reading a thread or two about somebody else fixing things that are my fault. Feels bad man.

Meh, E36 M3 happens, that's how we end up with bargains.
I'm feeling bad because I left all the parts to my extra KLZE outside (covered with several tarps) and many of them are rusted. I turned down several offers to buy it, because I'd feel E36 M3ty if someone got them home and then hated my guts because they're no good.
I can promise you I've done worse. It feels bad but at the same time getting rid of the car feels like tearing off an old band-aid - hurts at first but it's such a relief once it's gone.
Meh, my s13 is in a field covered with a tarp and has the turbo and manifold taped shut. We all get sloppy. I've only found one dead animal in it.

This is precisely why my garage is always a mess.
Although for me its more of a result of once I am done working on something, I am ready to get into the house and sit on the couch and drink a beer. And not clean up and put my stuff away. I clean up and organize things before I start the next project lol.

Cleaning for me always results in finding things I thought were lost. I must be on the other end of your wormhole.

That is me to a tee. Usually when I get done with something it is time to sit on my butt.

This is what happens all the time to me too. I found LH thread lugnuts on Monday when I was mopping my garage. Thing is that I have never owned a car that uses them nor do I know of any of my friends owning any. I emailed my friends but nobody has fessed up.
Gang,
Please do yourself a big favor and read up on 5S “Five S” which is a Japanese methodology for organizing workspaces.
I know of no faster, easier, more capable way of getting your E36 M3 squared away. Once said E36 M3 is squared away, you’ll find a significant increase in your enthusiasm towards projects and what level of complexity you feel comfortable taking on.
My only problem is that I can’t get my wife onboard with 5S….perhaps I need to invent 6S with the last S standing for separation.
Thanks guys. I'm sure it will be ok. Getting rid of this car is an important step. In the fall I'll get rid of my other long sitting project that's in the garage and then I'll be able to start rebuilding the building. Once things are weatherproof again (I have LARGE holes in the roof) then I have permission to install a lift and get another project. I know that I need to move these two cars and their associated parts out of the garage and out of my life so that I can move on, it's just hard. I'll get over it.
The older I get, the harder it is to bend over to pick things up, the more things stay on the floor.

7S. The last two stand for E36 M3 squared.

Can you be more specific?

I KNOW there are lots of things that are "lost" here that if I'd just clean up I'd find ... so I don't repurchase .... just do without 'cause I'm too lazy to clean up
A clean workspace is the sign of a messed up mind or something like that.
