Scene I parked in front of at the Home Depot this AM:

If that's broken glass on the ground next to it and assuming it was a spare part left loose in or on a vehicle, then I say one of two things happened:

  1. Someone accelerated from the spot too quickly, causing the transmission to eject itself from the back of a vehicle
  2. Someone pulled into the spot too quickly, causing the transmission to eject itself from the front of the vehicle, specifically through the windshield

I thought real hard about it... But I'm in my "good clothes". And that's an ever shrinking portion of my wardrobe because of things like "hey a free rusty transmission, let me grab it!"

I was wondering if it was a Subaru transmission, don't think so, not enough glass shards visible. laugh

Is that the Autotragic transmission I have been hearing about all these years?

In reply to Colin Wood :

Either option is a great story for around the campfire

Sad reality is probably that some E36 M3 head shoved it out of the bed of his truck to make room for whatever he bought at the Depot.

But Colin's versions paint humanity a little better.

I'm sure the story is lame, but better yet- which one of you crazies is going to identify it?  You know it's coming.

Scrapper needed more room for the tools they stole and a 2002 Altima trunk only holds so much. The glass table metal frame still fit, but the glass top had to go (plus glass is worthless for scrap).
