I'm thinking about getting some kind of basic full-time job from early January to late March to bring in some money (or at least extend my financial glide path) rather than just hunting for elusive tech jobs that will keep me stuck at home for a year from the start date. I might resume the hunt in the summer.
So, the question: I don't think many places would like to hire someone who they knew had a quit date planned a few months out, but some businesses probably wouldn't mind, and I'd rather not mess up an employer's plans if I can avoid it. It would need to be something with no weekend work though (trying to keep them open so I can try out a business idea on weekends), ideally regular weekday hours but night shifts could work too. Any recommendations? Fast food?

Amazon hires & fires regularly but that's because they chew people up and spit them out.
Security guard in an office building was my favorite hourly job. Night shift had almost no one to deal with and it paid more than retail or fast food. Nobody expects you to stick around in that job.
Most of the industrial places i go to would kill for a guy that showd up for 40 every week amd earned his paycheck even for only a couple months.

Lots of manual labor jobs... the ones that require drug tests.
Check with a local temp agency?
How are you at moving snow?
College daughter comes home and works Chipotle for a month at Christmas then 3 months in the summer. They're desperate and you mentioned fast food so there you go.
Drug tests are fine, at least for that time Temp agencies could be worth a check. My snow moving skills are decent, locally I think there's stiff competition from the neighborhood kids for that.

UPS and other delivery folks like to hire seasonal delivery assistants?
