Things I learned today.

Mercedes-Benz has supplied the Pope with cars for 94 years. The first being a Nürburg 460 Pullman Sedan for Pope Pius XI in 1930.

The past 45 have been G-class vehicles.

The newest one, to be delivered next year, is the first EV.

Seems like they could have saved a buck or two by using the Suzuki Samurai as a starting point.

It has a fighting chair. Didn't know the Pope was a deep sea fishing enthusiast.

I was thinking captian's chair.  I think they should put some unconnected buttons on it so he can tap on them and go "boop", "beep", "peep", "boop"

Hmm...it's like they are trying to offset a few years–six, to be more precise...

Kind of fitting, actually.

Not to go all biblical on everyone: "He said to them, 'Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.'" - Matthew 4:19.

Francis won't ride in it if it's too posh.  He's one of people.  He's even requested a pauper's burial.
