I vote for iPhone 6. Apple doesn't have a published end of support policy. Eventually, they'll stop fixing their old security bugs for a given model phone, and if you want to hold on to a phone for a long time, you want the end of support to be as far as possible in the future. That means, get the newest phone you can. Also, your monthly service charges will likely be the same, regardless of the handset, but a better handset will improve your experience.

For those keeping score at home I went with a 5c.

I wanted a 6, or a 6+, but those are cost-prohibitive since I needed an unlocked GSM phone. The cheapest I could find one was $400 with a shattered screen. No thanks.

So the 6 was out, and I started looking for a 5S. But those are pretty pricey too, it looked like I'd be spending about $350 for one. I got my laptop for less than that. Also, I couldn't help but think that soon an iPhone7 will come out and drive the price of the 6 down. Add in the fact that I currently have a flip phone without a camera, there is no way that any smart phone would really be a disappointment.

So now it was between a 5 and a 5C. It seemed that the C's were cheaper, it appears that they are all newer, and the same thing other than the color. Since I'll be putting a case on anyways, that didn't matter to me. So now I will have a blue iPhone running on TING's GSM network, which will hopefully be up by the end of the month.

Just traded up from a 4 to a 5S. Nice phone, but the person who decided to move the headphone jack so it plugs into the bottom of the phone instead of the top needs to be kicked in the nads. The 6 is the same way.
