iPod Boombox?

I'm looking for a dedicated iPod boombox (like the unit below). Prefer something that can run batteries as well as AC power.

I know the Bose unit is supposed to be good but it's also pretty expensive....any anyway, after years of noisy air tools and unmuffled race cars, my old ears may not know the difference. Just looking for something half-way decent.

Does anyone have any info or experience about the other various iPod boomboxes? I know Sony, Emerson, Altec Lansing, Memorex, etc make units.

My wife has an MTX iThunder. AC/DC power and sounds pretty good. Hunnerd bones.

I recently went looking for a NON-ipod boombox....they have all but disappeared. I did find one model of Sony that was AC/DC, that I may get after my next payday. Sorry, this doesn't answer you question.

BTW, my experience? BOSE, costs more, but it's always worth it.
