So, attempting to sell the BRZ on FB Marketplace (and in one of the Frisbie groups) has so far been nothing but predictable and mostly brought the wannabe wheeler dealers out, together with the occasional scammer.
Before I start looking more favourably at the trade offers I'm getting occasionally, is it worth still putting it on CL? CL here seems to be about 80% Carvana and 20% owners, so I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
I still use it, but I post cars in the general area since I can't see paying the $5 if anyone searching will find it for free
My brother sold his BMW 323 on FB marketplace a couple of weeks ago to the second person to respond. He came off 500 from his asking price & got 3500 more than a dealer had offered in trade. I'd say it worked well for him.

Funny enough craigslist buyers have won out 4 of the past 5 cars I've sold over Facebook. Probable 3 times more responses on Facebook but roughly 95% flakes with craigslist emails getting less messages but only half were flakes.
The $5 is totally worth it. Sold my Volt there for almost asking to the first person to respond to the ad. There are fewer people, yes, but those that remain are serious.
You'll get the usual scams texting you to confirm you are real or asking you for the "vehicle history report." Ignore them and you'll do fine.
I had my 4runner for sale on FB marketplace with little success. Put it on craigslist and had it sold in a couple days.
Could be related to typing in "4runner" in FB marketplace, and getting a Toyota Prius on the top results. They don't even try to fix anything. 9/10 vehicle ads are scams, but fixing things is hard I guess. I wish they would just shut it down so we can all go back to craigslist. At least I can search and sort there.
Is Craigslist still worth it?
Yes.
I still troll CL. I'm not joining Faceballs just for the marketplace. SWMBO is my representative for that.

I am 100% in the same boat.

Third on that.
I'll also add this. I sold my Suburban ~3 months ago. I put it on CL for a month and got 3 "real" inquiries in that time period. All of them seemed like tire kickers and never actually came to see it. I had wifey put it on Marketplace, nothing for 5 days then something must have happened to the algorithm and we had 4 real people on the same day, 3 of them wanted to drive to see it the next day, first one bought it at $300 under asking price, which was $700 more than I thought I would get.
Same experience with selling my Cushman Trackster last fall. Months on CL with nothing, 1 day on Facebook and people were fighting for it at full price.
Well, I put the trailer up for sale last Wednesday. Since then, I've received 12 inquiries on FB Marketplace and one on Craigslist. One of the FB people put a deposit down Saturday.
I don't particularly like it, but it seems that the House of Zuck has become the default way to buy and sell stuff, and the List of Craig has become an also-ran.
I haven't sold a car on CL for quite some time, but when I am looking for something specific I always try CL first. The search function alone makes it worth my time to at least check.
from the comments above maybe it is market specific.
I have yet to successfully purchase anything on the book of faces, but have only tried a few times.
long answer, but the short answer is yes probably still worth it, besides maybe you'll meet an African prince that needs help moving money to the US!
My biggest complain is that it feels that FB is focused on what it wants me to see and that with CL, I see everything that is for sale. As NY Nick said, days went buy with no action and then all action. I've had similar issues with FB sales. But, yes, FB will get the sale done.
I do still watch CL. What I mostly watch for is the type of guy who has not sold a car in 8 years. When he last sold, CL was THE PLACE. I think this guy might still list it then on CL. I also hope that guy who hasn't sold in 8 years hasn't really been watching used car pricing in the past 2 years!
I've listed a number of cars and motorcycles on both FB and Craigslist recently. Most of the cars sold to people on Craiglist with minimal hassle. IMO the $5 is still worth it but you will undoubtedly get some scam texts right off the bat.
Still beats the endless stream of "Is this available?" replies and master negotiators of FB.
CL is still worth it. Have you posted the BRZ here?
In my area NO!!
FB works. CL is where I find cars for cheap because no one bothers looking through all the temporary dealers.
Did Craigslist die because of the $5 fee ?
$5 is OK one time but it's every time you renew it , so that adds up
anyone try Offerup ?
I agree with what John Welsch said - CL is the old school choice now. And aside from the obvious scammers and low-ballers, I think the remaining buyers on CL tend to be a little more serious than FB.

The ads last 45 days, and if you've priced your car well you won't have it advertised for that long.
I use both FB and CL to get as many eyes on a car as I can.
It seems to be a wash which one works better these days. FB gets more contact, but most are flakes. CL seems to have actual humans with money making queries.
YMMV.

I haven't, other than the long build thread that shows what great cars these are.
Based on the build thread, I didn't think anybody on here would be interested.
