Hi all,
When I bought my S197 Mustang GT last year (2008) I started a thread about it. Now that we have reached Spring I have a ton of parts on the way and the updates are about ready to share but I can't find my original thread?
I used the search function which gives me a mix of GRM and web results, but between the fact that I'm so active on the forum and Mustang talk is so common I cannot find it to save my life.
I've invested about 45 minutes of scouring pages and pages of posts so I finally decided to give up and ask for help. Is there a better way to look?
Thanks!

Tom thank you but no. It was from when I bought it up through deleting the stripes. From last Fall.

Here is a GRM Board tip that should transform your user experience: Your Watchlist
Scroll up on this page and just under the the title you will see a row of icons ending in Facebook and Twitter icons. The very first icon is an eyeball. Click on that eyeball. You have now added this thread to Your Watchlist
To retrieve Your Watchlist:
At the top and bottom of every page you will see a drop down menu titled Jump To...
One of the choice in that drop down menu is Your Watchlist. Click to that and you will go to a list of threads you have "bookmarked" for yourself on the GRM forum.
So, if you do a build thread, add it to Your Watchlist. Then, you can come back a year later and quickly find your thread. Hypothetically, you might come across a thread detailing big brake options for Mustangs and think, "I want to save that for future reference." On that big brake thread, near the title, hit the eyeball icon and there you have it. Saved for easy future reference.

What else about your Mustang thread is unique? Any keyword? I searched "Loweguy5 Mustang stripes" and did not get results. What other unique words could be added to the search?
Did you name a dealership you bought it from?
Did you mention any brands of items added?

I remember the thread, because people were wondering if ghosting would be an issue, etc. I can't find it either.
I type into the search area the user name and then grassrootsmotorsports.com to find the list of threads. Or, the same thing only with something close to the threads title.
I just use Google. "[Searchterm] site:grassrootsmotorsports.com"

And you can add "/forum" at the end of that URL to narrow it to the boards.
If the Google trick doesn't work, the nuclear option for search is dogpile.com, it's turned up results on here I couldn't find any other way.
Clicking on any username will show all of their posts, it's not there.
Once again, GRM search function for the win!

I came across this using the following search term: "loweguy5" "grassrootsmotorsports" mustang stripe
The problem is the link appears broken

That's 100% it. Or was.....
Looks like I got kicked to the curb...and she didn't even buy me dinner lol.
Oddly the stripe thread wasn't the first...I posted about finding the car, the plan, etc. I'll start a new one later as I just ordered a LOT of parts and I'm excited for where it is headed.
And John Welsh, you actually taught me about watching threads in another post and I'm doing that. For some reason two of mine regarding this car have disappeared to never be found again. As my Southern grandma used to say, you sir "are as handy as a pocket in a shirt!".
Build thread coming soon.

What's odd, is it you plug in "198765" into the search at the top of the forum it finds it, even though the link is broken.
Maybe the article numbers aren't deleted with the thread?
Wait, you said 2008? That was before the forum overhaul wasn't it?
It may have been lost in the forum overhaul that happens about then

2008 car, thread was Sept. 2022 according to that screenshot.
I have never successfully been able to search for anything on the forum. Oh, I tried, but if I found it it was dumb luck.
