Appalachian people make my head hurt. There is only so much of that accent I can take. The guy is losing himself as words are falling out of his mouth.

At first, when I heard him say engine, I thought it was backwoods mountain talk for Indian.

The interesting thing about these is that I saw these shortly after concluding work on a series of engines on our engine dyno.

We didn't have a dyno room, we'd set up the cart and then roll it outside the building. Sometimes we'd tweak adjustments or look for leaks or such, while the engine was at full bellow at 4000rpm. Observing fuel standoff on 3x2s up close was rather facinating, though!

Scary! I've seen that almost happen a few times, including once with a lifted SuperDuty Ford truck. That would have launched itself through the wall and down the street.

the video in the OP looks like it was done on purpose- destructive testing to find the limits of the engine, figure out what broke, and make it better so they can try it again..

I remember when I was very young.. they had an engine room explosion aboard the ship my father was chief engineer aboard. Thankfully, it was a not a main engine, but a generator. Seems the young guy getting ready to fire up the rockcrusher overfilled the upper crankcase before starting.. all that oil fueled a runaway that finally ended with everyone evacing the engine room before it blew apart into many pieces
