While I was not a big fan of VIII most due to how disjointed the storyline was.. this is a good explaination of why the "Holdo Manuever" was not widely used before. Makes as much sense as anything else.

I still haven't seen the last three movies. The Force Awakens being a E36 M3ty remake of A New Hope left a bad taste in my mouth.
Sums it up for me:
I enjoyed Solo and Rogue One. I enjoyed the space ship cinematography of the others, but not the movies themselves. The last jedi was just sad, in many ways. I don't watch a star wars movie to feel sad.
What would be funny is if Snoke ended up being Darth Maul as some of the theories suggested before TLJ was released. It's not like cutting the dude in half actually killed him the first time....
Anyway, anybody know if sith can appear after dying like Yoda and Obi Wan do?
In reply to barefootskater :
Yes, they can, though typically only via holocrons or in areas strong with dark side force energy.
Side note on Maul: I never forgave Lucas for his poor showing of a potentially seriously-badass villain in Episode I. The fact that Dave Filoni got to bring the (now actually badass) character back in Clone Wars and Rebels has really been incredible, along with all the other story arc work he has done. If it weren't for those two series, I'd likely be less attached to the SW universe today.
