I just sold my beloved mini (not Mini) to Evan. I've had that car a long time, had TONS of GREAT memories in that car. It was time to move it on to another caretaker. I'm sad though. I'll miss it. A lot.
That's it. Just bummed for me, happy for Evan.
Time to bring my next project home......
what's next on the horizon?

Which Evan, he asked despite being fairly sure of the answer?

My Mini was hopefully loaded on to a truck heading to PA this afternoon. One person's Mini chapter ends, a new owner's begins.
So... new project?
just saw pictures of said event. i am jealous. i remember seeing that car in your garage when i was 15, thinkin it was the coolest thing ever.

It has made it most of the way home, I stopped at a friends house in Norwalk for the night. It didn't shift at all on the trailer even though I was checking the mirror every 10 seconds.
I will take great care of it and post many pictures.
I think that is a fitting step in the life of a beloved car.
Hopefully, when it's time for one of our vehicles to move on, it will go to an enthusiast who can breath fresh life into it with the vigorous motivation that comes with the acquisition of a new project.
I've actually been contemplating a fitting end for the Scoob. It's haggard inside and out, the gearbox has whingey synchros, it leaks oil and has recently begun smoking when started but my son says he wants it. But he won't be driving legally for another 10 years.
It's kind of like a grizzled, old prize fighter. He's covered in scars and doesn't move as quickly as he used to but he's still strong and there's still that glint in his eye of the animal inside that's barely kept in check. Lace up the gloves one more time or hang them up for good?
Anyway, sorry for waxing philosophical, looking forward to pics!
I am 10 minutes to Norwalk.

So yeah, obviously it was EvanB who is not the caretaker of the little guy. I kinda wanted it to go to someone here because I wanted an enthusiast to have it. I actually have 3 phone numbers in my tool box of neighbors or friends of neighbors that asked me to let them know when/if I wanted to sell it. I didn't call them because Evan approached me, GRM trumps 'old dude walking buy'.
The new project is someone else's stalled project. It involves 4 numbers and two letters

Why? I'm inferring that you got a tank, and are putting a truck engine in it
You mean he is building one of these?

Maybe... But I probably could have bought the nicest NA 944 in the world for what paid for my '64 Mini...

I dont know. The mini has been my favorite car of the 40+ I've had. No comparison.

Does the Porsche has exquisite leather?

^^No, that's only for cars from NY and CO.
This is neither exquisite, nor leather.

early 944 to judge by the dash.. be aware those cars are prone to steering/suspension shake if everything is not spot on

You only got it because you wanted another red car with a white roof haha.
Looks happy (even though the grin is toothless) with the miata sitting there. Glad you made it home ok.
You found a 944 with Pascha interior? That's a rare bird.
What year? 83, 84, 85.1? Power steering or manual?

Is that interior (specifically the door panels) a real factory thing? Those are super cool.
