It's that time of year again

The little tykes birthday is coming up in just over 2 weeks. That means it's time for her birthday party.

Sunday, may 28th at my house after 3pm, I'll put my number up the day of.

It just happened to work out this year that steel cities, north hills, and Allegheny highlands all have that day off, I fact according to the scca there is nothing going on within 400 miles that day.

Why am I telling you all this? Because GRM is invited.

As usual, I really over did it on the food. Unlike usual, I have a dry place to hangout and have the party.

Seriously, I'm cooking a small farm, so if you're going to be in the area, just passing through, or trying to find something to do that weekend, come on by.

Menu includes:

smoked

Brisket, pork belly, rack of lamb, pork butt, eggs

deep fried

Turkey, duck, hot sausage egg rolls, cheese cake

other

My homemade cornbread, all homemade sauces, Mac n cheese, and of course birthday cake.

Presents are not required, seriously, she's getting tons of stuff already. I won't even make you work on the challenge car, because there won't be any room.

Just come out and eat, and feel free to bring the family with you, there will be toddlers and older single digit age kids.

Conveniently located about 30 minutes from both Irwin and new Stanton turn pike exits in Greensburg,pa.

Like last year, the day of I'll put my phone number up here if you need directions or anything.

This will also be the official unveiling of the lifted wagon, so if your bringing kids, I've got some cones, we can setup a race.

Smoked eggs? Do tell...

Smoked eggs are great.

Depending on how long you leave them in, you can range them from soft boiled to rocks. No prep for the eggs needed, just put them in the smoker and let them go. An hour at 225 seems to be the sweet spot for hard boiled like texture. If you pull them astound 40 minutes the yolk is still runny, and makes a great scotch egg starter.

You'll get a nice smoke ring on the inside, and they look great for deviled eggs but really strange in a salad.

The yolks get extremely dry this way though, but I don't eat that part of hard boiled eggs anyway, just something to keep in mind if your making deviled eggs or something similar.

Just wanted to bump this for the day shift.

Weather is claiming late afternoon rain now, but we're covered for rain thanks to the car port.

The only thing I'm asking anyone to bring is something to sit on. A lot of my folding chairs are aging out, so I don't have many left.

The food should start finishing around 3pm, and there's a lot of it.

Rev, thanks for the open invite. I won't be able to make it Sunday due to pre-existing holiday weekend plans but I just took a look at the blog in your sig. It looks like anyone who can make it is in for a treat.

Bah, I wish this wasn't three hours away and my brother's kid's party wasn't the same day.

Kudos for not requesting presents too, my brother specifically told my family not to worry about presents, and they're all bringing toys and/or cash to try and compete with my brother's much wealthier in-laws. Kid's got more stuff than most of us, and people keep trying to one-up each other.

@tactical. A good friend of mine has twin boys a year older than my daughter. I've been getting 2 of everything since she was born, on top of my stuff from when I was little. She's more interested in the wrapping paper than the gift anyway.

This is more my way of giving back a little to the grm crew and maybe meeting some more local members. Everyone I've met so far has been really cool, Rob, fasted, Andrew w Smith, and while we've not officially met, pinchvalve has taken some great pictures of my cars.
