I've been gone for quite a while, but I swear that there used to be a spot to click that got you back to the last spot you read in a thread. If not it's the only forum I'm on that doesn't
Having to remember what page you were on and/or start from the beginning is for the birds.
So what am I not seeing? I'm sure it's just me.
If we have that option I am unaware of it.
GRM forums never had such a feature...it would indeed be helpful though.

Don't ever remember that feature, but I discover a new feature here every year or two. But I'm pretty sure that one was never one.
GRM Forum absolutely did have that feature in the past and it was removed in one of the updates. It is missed badly.

carguy, what happened to you anyways? I figured you'd kicked the bucket. Glad that isn't the case!
I always wonder about missing members.
Poopshovel still lives, right?
I always thought that's what the arrow to the right of each thread was for.

That takes you to the last post in the thread.

It's a long story that would probably get me banned AGAIN if I told it.
OK here's evidence that neither I nor CarGuy are crazy. If you go here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20080613212610/http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/2008-classifieds/
Which is an archive of the 2008 classifieds page from 6/13/2008, you see there are starts on the left side of the post. The yellow stars are threads that have new posts, and clicking on them would take you to the newest post you had not yet read. When they redid the forum so it used the red bars on the left it did away with the new post functionality.
The yellow star link sends you to the thread with #newposts appended on the end. Interestingly that functionality still worked if you manually typed #newposts onto the end of the URL after the board updated, but I wasn't committed enough to adding that myself each time I went to a thread. It might even still work.
IE, this thread is:
https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/ive-got-to-be-doing-something-wrong/124122/page1/
and this link:
https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/ive-got-to-be-doing-something-wrong/124122/page1/#newposts
at least used to take you to the newest unread posts in this thread. Try it, maybe it works.

I'm not 100%, but I thought it was poopy that got the ban hammer in the big shake up that happened last year.

Poop is still around, with a slightly different name. And not near as much posting.
There's still ways to get to the lastest threads, it's wending your way through the thread trying to find you spot that's the issue.
Kinda like closing a book without a page marker or turning a page down and then trying to find the page you were reading every time you pick it back up.
I can't believe it's gone. There's not another forum, that I frequent that doesn't have it. I thought it was SOP for all forums nowadays.

Poopy got banned? Must have been while I wasn't visiting the forum
In reply to joey48442:
I don't think he got banned. He just stopped posting for a while but does make an occasional appearance.

Man, I miss all the drama.
You know, in a weird sort of way, so do I.
Well it's easy to miss the excitement, drama & even some legitimate information since it's much harder to find out where you left off the last time you were on the forum without the little yellow, placeholder stars we used to have.
Can we get them back?
It's like the band is back together!
I got cowbell this time!
Dink dink dink dink [cowbell sounds]
I miss the stars too.
Wait, that would work in haiku format spectacularly:
Missing the past stars
Threads winding like lost children
The cowbell rings out

I can't help but to hear that Slayer style in my head.
