Got back from the Japanese Day lawn event at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum. Lots of really cool cars, including a sweet 240Z with a C7 LT1 swap.
Although the most unique car there was a Mitsubishi Delica 4x4 from Carver, MA. Was that any GRM'ers car? I know we have a Delica or two on here.
The red Mazda REPU there was sweet too.

See the "diesel knocking" thread in the GRM section. Pretty sure it was Mazda...I forgot the letters and numbers at the end of his name.
Just a guess I was in a different state at the time.
That was my guess too. Very cool car in person.

I've been to a number of the lawn events at Larz Anderson this season, but unfortunately didn't make it to this one. Looks great. Maybe next year.
That's Mazdax605 on here. His name is Chris, and he's a really cool guy.
That was indeed my van. Thanks for the kind words Tony. I even won two trophies yesterday. I have no idea how, but I got best Mitsubishi, and best specialty car. There is no way I had the best Mitsubishi there, and I sure a E36 M3 don't understand the specialty award, but hey my kids liked the trophies. I liked that I spent the day with like minded people, and a bunch of friends that I don't see nearly enough. It was a gorgeous day as well. Oh yeah I made it home too, that was a plus. That was the best Japanese Car Day yet, and I've been to them all.
Chris,
Really nice car. Definitely deserved the awards. I completely understand the specialty award. I didn't see anything quite as unique as the Delica. My friend, who's doing a 240Z rebuild, loved it too. It was his favorite of the entire day. You have quite a car there. Maybe I'll see you next year.

Funny story about the red REPU. I was there super early, and saw the truck pull in. Of course I was drawn to it as I have a green 74 myself. It is the longest owned vehicle I have ever had. I went over to talk to the owner as he was detailing it(something I never do to mine by the way), and noticed it was a 75. While talking to the guy I mentioned I had a 74, and he said yeah same year as mine. I told him no in fact you own a 75. He says I've owned this truck 20 years I know what year it is. So I pointed out the fact that it has a few details that only 75's have, and sure enough even the VIN tag shows it's a 75. How do you own a vehicle 20 years and not know what year it is? Amazingly that truck started life the same shade of green as mine, but was painted red. It is a very clean truck. Wish I had taken mine there, but maybe not as it would have looked like crap next to it. Much like it did last year next to a sweet orange one that a friend of mine owns.
Excellent show this year, and the weather couldn't have been nicer! Last year it was really cold and breezy. Maybe low 50's last year. Did you see the little Mitsubishi Minica Dangan(sp?)? It was super cool, and my friend Brad is looking to trade for it. The 12" wheels were crazy small, and the intercooler was smaller than the oil cooler on my RX-7. Something about a small lightweight box with a turbo-charged/intercooled 3 cylinder with 5 valves per cylinder. Crazy Japanese Kei cars.
In reply to Mazdax605:
Yeah. It was really cool. We were laughing at the size of the tires and the engine bay. The Figaros were neat too (Kei car convertibles). How about the Toyota Sera. That was cool, just from the point of view of having never seen something like it. The Z with the blue LT1 in it was great too. It may have gotten my friend out into his garage yesterday to get back to his welding...
And it was a beautiful day. Perfect weather.
Hey, just rereading your first post. How did you know I was from Carver?

I'm a little late to this, but I had the white Galant VR-4 that was smack middle in the show.
Firs time going, it was an awesome show. Beats seeing 50 chevelles and camaros at every other show.
The Delica and other rare mitsus were awesome!
