Kid from Utica done good.
It's really amazing how much hate he gets from the guitar community, which I honestly don't get. In interviews he's quite self-effacing and downplays what he does and his collection of gear. He's the Jay Leno of the guitar world.
I watched a PBS special of him, I was pretty impressed. Schults and Dooly would approve. (Utica reference)
I lived in Utica on summer for an internship at Remington in Ilion.
god that place was terrible. Had to drive a berkeleying hour to find a bookstore
The Utica area is much better now. I won't call it great but there is a lot of good. I've lived in Flint (not good at the time) rural SC, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Houston. Utica now has a lot of medium city stuff, it's also less than an hour to Syracuse. My commute in Charlotte, Raleigh and Houston could be an hour.
I had never heard of Joe B and then one day I learned about him at the RC flying field from... his father. He flew RC planes with me, nice guy I had no idea though. After he told me who his son was and I looked it up and heard him I was shocked.
Love me some Joe every now and then. I missed him in Providence last November. But next time he's around I'll see him. Great artist.
