I can't remember seeing any comments on the show from The Hive? It's releasing on DVD in a few weeks and I haven't seen any of it. Worth buying?

As an original Justified fan I enjoyed it quite a bit. Only small gripe is that some of the plot lines with the daughter felt predictable, but you can accuse nearly any show of that in some way. That's Olyphant's real daughter so take that for what you will. Boyd Holbrook does the villian thing really well as he did in Sandman so thumbs up there. I'm not sure I'd spend real money on owning the series on DVD when I can stream it on Hulu, but to each their own.
Justified is maybe my favorite series ever. I enjoyed City Primeval but not as much as the original.
Interesting the way they adapted Raylan into a non-Raylan Givens Elmore Leonard source story, though.
I borrowed the J:CP DVD set from the library.
It's just not the same without the song at the beginning...
As good as any of the B-tier seasons of the original, which is still better than most of the stuff on TV.
I love Boyd Holbrook and his performance was top notch, but the character wasn't written particularly well. He was just sort of a generic badguy that was only really elevated by a strong performance.
It was OK. Maybe I look back at the original show with rose-colored glasses, or maybe I really just miss the rural Kentucky setting, but I didn't feel like it lived up to past seasons. Agreed about Boyd Holbrook, he gave a good performance, but his character was not well-written at all. There's no way a guy who does the stuff he did would be alive as long as he was in the criminal world.
