I have an enclosed trailer that is parked in a mostly shady section of our yard. On Friday I took the car out to put it away for the season. Today I went to clear out the rest of the things I don't like to leave in the trailer for the winter and noticed that I have mildew/mold starting to grow on the walls. I have not had this problem before, have had the trailer since winter of 2017. I typically leave the roof vent cracked open a little but noticed I forgot to open it after my last trip (about 6 weeks ago) and suspect that is why I am growing things. It poured rain here yesterday and there is no signs of leaks anywhere, jump damp feeling inside. Plywood walls and floor. So a few questions; did I cause this by having the roof vent closed and how do I clean up so I don't have more issues?  Will simple green do the trick? Tips for avoiding this in the future. It is not unusual to not go into the trailer for weeks at a time, really don't want this surprise again.

Diluted bleach will work better than simple green for cleanup and to kill the spores. A couple buckets of damp rid in the trailer should keep future issues at bay. You will need to replace them every so often.

Do you think not leaving the vent open had anything to do with this or just the rainy weather we have had lately? Will start cleanup with some bleach and pick up some damp rid tomorrow. Thanks

get yourself one or two of these. They run day and night with the solar cells and batteries.
