I vote let them adopt and clean MLK BLVD.......the worst that can happen is both sides can take to killing each other......the world would be a better place, as afterwards, fewer racists(on both sides mind you) would exist.

I seem to agree with this. And that also brings up the big ugly bear in the room. It's perfectly ok to be racist, as long as you aren't a white dude. Ask me how I know.

Been brought in front of HR a few times by a select couple of minority co-workers, who have previously shared and open distaste for whitey, all the while accusing me of racism. Had nothing to do with their color- had to do with the fact that they berkeleying sucked at working. I had attempted to bring said folks in front of HR for the exact same thing they were doing to me (racism on the job) and I got shot down. Funny how that works.

Nah- it's not okay for anyone to be a racist. But, yeah, there are people of all colors who don't seem to get it.

Weird that the KKK is so full of rage about the plight of the down trodden whites that they feel the only course of action available to them is to... clean up a highway. But whatever floats their boat!

IMO we don't need white pride, black pride, gay pride, or purple pride. It's idiocy to be proud of something you had no hand in accomplishing. You didn't get a high score in pinball before you were born in order to become white, you were born white because your parents were white, and so were their parents. Be proud for E36 M3 you accomplished, not for genetics.
that said, there's no way they'll NOT get the rights to clean the road under first amendment rights.

I would disagree, this is America and anyone can be a racist. The problem comes when you get you hood, or bowtie or whatever in a wad when you are called one. This should apply whether you are the grand wizard, Steve #7 from mosque #4 or or any one else who feels they are better by being born a particular hue.

They can clean the highways all they want, I'm just concerned with their definition of cleaning,,

There's not a damn thing wrong with someone being proud of their heritage. It's when someone decides that heritage gives them the right to look down upon someone else or worse yet impede their progress in this world because they don't share that heritage. That's what I don't like at all about the KKK. Yes there are a couple of Klukkers in my family and they know full well how I feel.

Now, on to the NAACP. That has to be one of the most racist organizations EVER. You doubt me? Check up on some of the things Dot Scott of the coastal SC chapter has said. That makes (at least her branch) of the NAACP no better than the Klukkers.

There is definitely a double standard. Overt white on black racism is (rightly) viewed as intolerable. Overt black on white? Go right ahead. It could even make you famous and rich. (Right, Rev. Jackson? Don't forget his 'Hymietown' crack.) Hey, NAACP: you REALLY want my respect? Make overt black on white racism as intolerable in print as white on black is.

Ok? No. not ok in any way shape or form. But "ok" in the sense that if I got jumped by 6 minority types (take your pick, I'm not about to single a group out) it'd be at worst, gang violence. If myself and 5 of my caucasian friends jumped a minority? We'd all be hate crimed and NAACP'ed and Jesse Jackson'd to death.

I'm ok with them adopting the highway. I also think that if I were the editor I would've left that article out of my paper. The only thing keeping the KKK alive besides ignorance and hate is attention. Ignore them and they will go away.

I understand the history of the KKK and how it differs from the NAACP, but find the KKK and the NAACP to be both part of the problem and not part of the solution. If you are truly fighting for equality then why limit your group based on skin color? Shouldn't it really be NAAP if they were trying to achieve equality?

They do not want equality, they want separate but equal (Miss Black USA for example) or perhaps even special treatment (affirmative action). That is not equality.
