The LA Auto Show is at the end of this month, and I will definitely be going. Any other Southern Cal people planning to attend? Any tips for avoiding the crowds? I plan to attend on a weekday.

I have been a few times in the past. Weekdays will be a LOT less crowded. Given your location (near downtown as I remember), go on a weekday and try to get there early (if it's a workday for you)
The issue I have with the show, and why I don't go anymore is that weekdays are the best time to go.... buuuutttt... the show closes at 9 or 10... NO WAY most anyone will be driving there will get there before 7!, unless you are close or like horrific traffic (it's in an area surrounded by VERY bad traffic areas), so you at best have a few hours to look around, not enough.
The other thing I hated about it (don't think it's true anymore) is even though LA is almost certainly the largest car market in the US (and very influential of course) they had the damn Detroit show the same week (or within a week) and the WOULDN'T SHOW many of the most interesting cars!!!
