GF parents lived there for a number of years, I visited a few times. It gets REALLY hot in the summer, as in 115+, not sure about the winter but is should be nice (a fair number of people live there seasonally).
A pretty small town actually, not sure what industry they have, it seems like things are mostly lake related (it sits next to a rather large lake). The London Bridge is there now (in case you didn't know). Its close to Parker, which more the summer party spot. I don't think the summer scene is quite as intense as it used to be. Generally though, it is kind of in the middle of nowhere, the land around the town is pure desert. Needles, a pretty small town also, is somewhat close, Vegas is at least an hour away.
I became very drunk there a few times.
do you like deserts?
do you like really big reservoirs?
do you love heat?
Yes, especially in summer.
When it is 115+ its just like being on the moon. It looks like the moon, and if you go outside for too long, you will die.
An interesting aspect also: since the Colorado river is damned in numerous places, and the water feeds from the bottom of the dam, the water in the river is COLD. It is a very interesting (and likely heart attack encouraging) thing to be standing in 70 degree water, with the top half of your body in 115 degree heat.
