Is it me? Why don't I see the "awesomeness" in this?
We had Lambo Door Kit put in to give the Vette that WOW look." I see it as: Wow, look how hard it must be to close the doors.
The "rare automatics" bug me too. Rare, as in nobody really wants that car with an automatic transmission.
Are there car options that buy you that others fawn over?
1987 Corvette Lambo Doors
Power seats. You adjust them once, then never touch them. Why have the added weight and complexity of a power mechanism?
Weren't a vast majority of C4s automatics?
Most 'vettes have been auto's for almost 4 decades now. I love how it's "mint" but the doors have been bastardized and the dash has crap "custome" fake carbon fiber applique all over it.
I've seen slushboxes listed as "desirable." In Miata adds. Yes.

That's because most women prefer automatics...........(Ducks and runs for cover)
Continuing on Miatas with automatics....
the last year or two, as the model year ran down and the dealers were all advertising "giveaway" prices, I went on MazdaUSA.com to do an inventory search. Unless I wanted to drive OVER 200 miles, one way, to find one, I could never locate a Miata that had a manual transmission. Right now, there are only 3 or 4 Mazda3 models within 150 miles of Memphis with manual transmissions (not including MazdaSpeed3s). Mazda6s are about the same.

When I sold my M Coupe, I refused to use the terms "sporty", "rare", "collector's", or "low mileage" to describe it.

Yes. That goes without saying. So it did.
Except to the dumbass who e-mailed saying he'd "consider it" for $5k less than asking price because he'd "researched it" and that's what KBB said.
Yeah, but when you sold your coupe did you include a brand-new hat like this guy?

No. I was only able to include a Bentley Manual, Service Light Reset tool, and a new set of front Hawk HPS pads. I knew I was forgetting something!

I don't remember where I read it (getting old is hell) but somewhere I saw that most (read > 90%) of the cars sold in this country are sold w/ automatics
and that < 30% of the cars sold in Europe are sold w/ automatics...

Tommy, when you get old and have bad knees you may suddenly see the genius in power seats

And people forget how to deal with people who do not drive automatics. Not only do they pull up so close to the back of my car at a light I am afraid to take my foot off of the brak in case I roll back (what is the rule on that anyway?) but a few months ago I took my foot off of the brake and the girl behind me bumped my ti.. when I got out and asked.. she told me that because I took my foot off of the brake, I was supposed to go forwards.. not sit there.

My wife
"That's because automatics let us, do our make-up, talk on the cell phone, eat breakfast, and yell at the kids, all at the same time."
That being said she has no problems what so ever driving a stick and doing 3 out of the 4 above, granted she does wait for red lights for the make-up.

Often wonder that myself and thought that it would look like you got rear ended making it their fault. Just my opinion though.
And whats with all the new seals at 42,000miles? Sitting like that cause the seals to fail? I know sitting is bad for seals, lack of lubrication and all but ?
It would be there fault. And with my reverse sensor out, I could slowly back into someone, and still the cops would find them at fault. Not that I want to hurt my car, 1st gen neons are disapearing quick.
as for the original car, "Rust protection all around" No E36 M3, fiberglass doesn't rust, shiny happy person
