There's not much I can say here that isn't going to start an unending argument.
The article is poorly written, the author has no right claim the title of journalist, and of the few things I'm ashamed of this country for, abortion is very high on the list.
More power to him!! Regardless of your position on this issue you've got to respect the landlord and hate the protestors.
And BTW Dr. Hess, you obviously didn't read the story as this guy is the landlord, not the doctor.
This is the way the "occupy movement" should have gone rather than smearing E36 M3 on walls and spray painting my city's parks.
Exactly. Regardless of your beliefs, it is not okay to show up at a child's school and terrorize her as part of your protest.

He owns the property and allows abortions to be performed there. He is every bit as much at fault as the doctor who is killing people in that building.
It did say in the article that he is not stopping people from picketing out front of the building. He just goes after the people that bother him with phone calls at home and such.

Or other relatives at their place of business.
Lesley wrote: Yeah, you're probably right. Maybe I should un-post it.
At least it is an actual issue and we aren't just bickering about what should or shouldn't be posted on the board.

Jezebel is part of Gawker, the morons who bring us jalopnik. poor writing is par for the course. They fire anyone who doesn't have consistently high unique page views (i.e. don't give a damn about return viewing, community members, etc.) even if they are brilliant authors. (e.g. what jalopnik did with Sam Smith and murilee martin). The quest for unique page views is also why they strayed into tabloid crap...I stopped reading jalopnik after they decided that "Paris Hilton crashed her car" was automotive news
...and everybody try to play nice. i do not want to see this thread get ugly.

I'd never seen that website before, but that explains a lot.
I will suggest that accepting an award and being lauded as a hero by NARAL is very telling of his motives. It's not about harassment.

You're 100% entitled to your opinion on the topic of abortion, but I don't see anywhere that the author of that piece is claiming to be a journalist. It sure looks to me to be a current-events based editorial blog, just like hundreds of others, and not badly written - just a bit informal.

At the top of the page are the words "Top Stories". That implies a journalistic presentation of news. If it said "Top Columns" you'd have a point.
Oy ..... Lesley was providing a story. Period. I've done it, you've done it.
If the writer sucked at it, he wouldn't have the byline.
Get revved up when someone hits a button, got a holier than thou, you're all morons attitude? Take it to a ricer forum.
I resent being bundled into a group called "unevolved" or a "moron".
Lighten the hell up.

The Onion is satire, but I'm sure they'd be happy to have a "Top Stories" section.
As a consumer of information, it's our job to understand where this stuff is coming from. Jezebel is... well, Jezebel can get rather hysterical sometimes. You've got to think about who's presenting the "story".
Thankfully, they link to the real journalism at the bottom. Mostly the same story, but without the histrionics.

And the author there makes it clear that she's a columnist.
I still don't see any claim whatsoever that this is presented as "journalism". And, frankly, judging from what is accepted as journalism today, if you took the expletives out, it would pass muster.

Then we can at least agree that the current baseline for what is published and disseminated is shockingly low?
I don't care about the abortion part. If its not my child, its not my choice.
I do care about religious nutbags making life hell by annoyingly imposing their opinions on law-abiding citizens. It is their first amendment right, as it is his to "fight" back. If they want to be effective, they need to take those signs and demonstrations to Washington.
Good for him.
