I was flying from PHX to SEA yesterday. I landed in SEA and saw tons of news reporters run in around asking everyone if they were on the LA flight. I didn't know hat that meant and kept walking.
Later I picked up my rental car and drove to a buddies house. On the way I passed a big Homeland security building. There was a person outside giving a statement. I thought that was odd, but didn't really think too much about it.
Afterward, I learn it was because of diverted flights and cancelled flights due to the shooting. Weird.
Yesterday I got a haircut. The lady cutting my hair made a "politically charged" comment about the shooting. So I replied with "politically charged" comment that countered hers.
She didn't say anything in reply. Then I thought, You know, I don't want to have a politically charged conversation with the person who's cutting my hair--especially a few days before I leave for SEMA.

Isn't it the Dunlop booth that gives out free tires for getting their tread pattern shaved in your head?
Problem solved.
I've been trying to stay away from these but the one thing I took away from the news was:
Facts:
8 to 10 shots were fired (we'll leave out the whole gun free zone thing)
1 TSA agent was killed
3 to 4 agents were injured
7 passengers were injured
-Fuzzy math goes here-
How were 11 to 12 people injured (and one sadly killed) with 8 to 10 shots?
Me thinks someone needs a refersher course on firearm safety centering around knowing what your target is and what is around and behind it.
Okay out of political threads for the day!

Free Z2's for a haircut? Almost worth it.

Odd that a barber shop would have a woman working there. My barber used to have the news on, but switched to sports to try and cut down on the fighting. It didn't work. I'm beginning to think some people aren't happy unless they have something to be unhappy about.

+100
I can't add high enough for this. Also Wally- you ought to know that already- A- you live in NY and B- you're a bus dude. You get the dregs by default.
My roommates freshman year played Lacrosse, they shot at me sometimes.
Being designated goalie sucks.
...
Oh, that LAX
You know, I think that was Dunlop. Thing is we usually do the tire hall on Thursday, and I have SEMA functions starting on Sunday evening.

We used to call this "problemitus".

You say like its a problem. I could see a Z2 haircut being quite fashionable.
I can imagine certain haircuts could be quite fashionable at SEMA.

I need a couple sets of snow tires. I'd be willing to let them carve a set of Graspic treads into my back hair for them.

I'm doing that for PRI. For SEMA, I went a different route.

I might have a pic somewhere of a SEMA Dunlop haircut, though if so, it long predates the Z2 tread pattern. I'll see what I can find.

Looked it up, Dunlop is doing the tatoos in the head.

If I could get a set of rally tires out of shaving something into my head? You couldn't keep me out of the chair. (And shave the head completely later if I didn't like the tread pattern.)

Okay out of political threads for the day!
Statements from the police said that some injuries appear to be from running away rather than being shot.
Not like it matters, this thread is no longer about the airport shooting, it's about what people will do for free tires.

Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh proved she’ll do anything for a free haircut.

I was going try to say something funny, but cannot: free tires are a serious matter.
