In addition to the round paved and dirt tracks, aren't there 5 or 6 drag strips in Iowa? so how bad can it be?
Imo Iowa's biggest knock is the winter weather. It's right below Minnesota which has some of the longest and most miserable winter weather of anyplace in the country. Iowa's is slightly better in this regard but not by much.
We raced at Eldon for dirt and Eddyville for 1/8 mile. Closest 1/4 mile was in Illinois or Missouri from where we lived at the time in South Central Iowa. Eldon is where the American Gothic house is as well as this monstrosity that Roseanne Barr and her husband were building before they divorced. This was the early 90's.

So they should have snowmobiling in addition to all the other motorsports.
It's quite a haul from Waverly (or to tell the truth, most places in the state) but this kart track in Delmar is awesome-- and the elevation changes are brutal.
Unfortunately, they don't do rental karts anymore.

Eh, not really. The snow isn't consistently deep enough around here to warrant owning a sled, IMO (I'm in southern MN). Don't get me wrong, lots of people still do, but they have to drive farther up north most winters for good riding.
I forgot Iowa exist. I wouldn't move there, ever lol
Give Ten Tenths Podcast a listen. They are in Iowa and discuss all the local motorsports events, one of the hosts is on the committee for DMVR time trials.
