I'm not the judgmental type, so I don't view the situation with any preconceived bias. Yet this discussion(and other similar ones) have made me aware of situations/thoughts/feelings I likely never would have considered on my own - and through that, I feel you've helped me grow as a person. Even though there's *no way* I'd ever want to follow in your path, I now better understand why you do and I'm ok with that.

Thank you. Seriously. I realize what I am doing is...rather unpopular. I am OK with that. Because no one else has to walk in my shoes but me. (Asics gt2000 currently) however I fully believe that if more people chased their dreams and were willing to take giant leaps, I think the world would be a better place.

Recently, I read the phrase "flat over crest" in captain downshifts thread. It struck a chord with me. When you go flat over crest, you're doing a couple things. #1, you're putting your life in the hands of your codriver. They've scouted, they have the notes. #2 you're taking a huge risk. You can't see what's on the other side. Could be a deer, could be a car, could be anything. But if you don't flat over crest, all you do is lose, and wonder what if.

I'm choosing flat over crest.

I think that meshes with what I posted earlier. Who knows, maybe after a couple of months without you and with the cold Minnesota winter closing in the wife will emigrate southward and you'll be back with a new thread about "should I shop for a California King bed now?"

Before I was happy to just make some silly comments about not moving to Orlando because it's so terrible. However, as a native Floridian I have to say you crossed the line here pal. You can make a statement like that about some shiny happy person from any state. I'm sorta sick of people bagging on Florida and then clamoring to move here. If we're all such shiny happy people and the state sucks so bad then I heartily recommend you stay in whatever godforsaken frozen tundra you come from; it'll certainly improve my morning commute.

So, back to the whole, learning about moving to Florida. Where's a good place to move if you want a middle class living expense situation and good education for your kid and don't necessarily need a job in the area?

In reply to Harvey: My uncle is the now retired chief of police in Gulf Breeze. It has a very good school system and a good bit going for it. Nice beaches. Don't speed, they WILL catch you and ticket you.

My wife worked with a lady that was the girlfriend of a chief of police in a Chicago suburb. He had a wife that the went home to every night. The girlfriend was always with him at the work social events. It all worked out fine - surprisingly since they were all Italians.

How you doing?

I haven't posted in over a month and will continue to not post after this one, but your delusions of grandeur are berkeleying unreal. Consistently through most threads you have made or talked about of your lifestyle over the years, its quite obvious you are a selfish person, quit trying to butter it up any other way. You took advantage of, not helped, a woman and left her as another statistic as a single mother. I don't care what bullE36 M3 crap you can contrive up of your "experience" with the welfare system.

Jesus, you are an awful person. And a large reason why I decided to remove myself from this board, because of the awful behavior it tolerates and supports. There, I said it, even though most the board was thinking it, just that the forum-police will probably datsun1500 me.

I'm glad I was able to break your streak. Plenty of people hate me, have threatened to kill me, even worse. Line forms to the left. Ask my ex- she's just as done as anyone. It just took a kick in the ass for someone to cross the line. BUT hey. Nothing like getting all the facts before name calling.
