a few weeks before Christmas I made an Italian dish that boiled over in the oven which made a huge mess resulting in a ton of burning tomato and cheese stuff burning to ash and making a ton of smoke in my home. I cleaned the oven, aired out the house, sprayed all of the soft surfaces with free breeze to remove the odor from the house. 24 hours later we noticed the smell was gone, house guests have stated they don't smell anything and we even had family stay with us over the holidays and they didn't notice anything either. That being said; my wife and I have both noticed that every once in a while when the furnace kicks on in the living room (and nowhere else) you can smell a faint odor similar to that burning smell we got when I under sized the pot I made dinner in. I have changed the air filter in the furnace. Anybody have any other ideas? The furnace is around the same age as the house was renovated (10 years old) and functions perfectly.
