Ever been hit by a rock thrown up by a 4x4's tires? I have, and it sucks. Washington is also an every truck needs mudflaps state, but the enforcement is spotty (some areas are hardcore about, others don't care). Since insurance doesn't have to fix a windshield until it's cracked I have at least 5 star impacts on mine from guys without mudflaps.

i went in today.
i have a court date for tomorrow morning so they can tell me what a bad person i am and how much i have to pay. they lifted the warrant. technically in the computer i was arrested and released on bond(signature, no $). which kind of ticks me off. now i'm a thug with an arrest on my record just like all my favorite rap artists who have the same impala in their videos that i do.
but the lady at the court was very helpful and tried to make it so i could just pay this morning and be on my way, however no mudflaps is not a waiverable offense and you must appear in court, the computer wouldn't let her calculate the fine. why i have no clue, but they must think people without mudflaps are evil.
the truck is a 3500 pickup with a flatbed.
i'm feeling better than yesterday, but not as good as i will feel tomorrow when it's over. actually i'll probably feel like crap because i'm expecting it to cost around $400. that's like a whole car right there. the big rig mudflaps only cost me $9 for both from the international dealer.
so i went to court.
pleaded guilty so i wouldnt have to explain anything. judge dropped some of the fine, and i wound up with $270 total fines and court costs + $15 to reinstate my BMV privileges + $8 to park downtown.
now i need to go renew my suburban plates so i can drive to work tomorrow.
It could have gone worse, glad its over with
oh yeah.
impala + 5.3 LS engine + longtube headers + chambered race mufflers with dumps sounds sooooo badass echoing off the buildings downtown.
