As some of you know, and few of you care ( wink ) I landed a position that allows me to work remotely, facilitating a move. Since that took place the Boost family has been getting things in line so we can move.
Our oldest son wanted to stay in Michigan, so we waited for him to get his place. He moved out 2 weeks ago.
2 weeks of furious activity started then, and as of about 1 pm yesterday our house was listed as "Coming Soon" on the MLS.
We now have 6 showings scheduled for the first day it hits the market! One of the buyer's agent called our agent and asked if his client could come see the house before it's on the market. She said "you know I can't do that" and he said "my client wants THIS house".

Woo-hoo! sounds promising.

Our house will hit the market officially Monday, 8/30. At oh-dark-thirty that day we're heading down to our eventual destination (more on that later) to start scouting areas. That way the humans and animals are out of the house for the the next 10 days.

Our eventual destination is Florida. Specifically the areas surrounding Venice.  Let this serve as a notice to the GRM headquarters and all the folks in Florida. The Boost family is coming. You might want to sell your houses now before your property values plummet LOL.

Trust me... You'll be under contract on Monday, possibly for more than your asking price.

Last week my friend listed his hunting cabin/property for $88k.  On the same day he was under contract for $112k

I hope it goes that quickly, and for above asking.
As it is, we planned on selling before this pandemic thing hit. Now we're finally listing, but for $30K more than we were going to list it for back in March 2020.

I'm not sure how Fenton is/your specific home value, but you might be on the low side.. I think the market on the whole in some of our MI areas are up close to 20% from early 2020

Oh fun. As someone who has moved from the east coast to the west coadt (VA to CA) then west coast to Texas and soon from Texas to DC all within the last 8 years....it's a lot of work, stressful, and exciting.

How does the taxes work out when you sell a home for significantly more than you owe on it? We're looking at making at least $100k when we put our on the market soon.

To back that up, a friend of mine just did the same thing, from A2- his house sold WAY faster than they thought it would.  Like in days.  He's now near Tampa.  This was just a month ago.

But at least the weather has prepared you for living in Florida in the last few days.

You are usually good with value increase at sale pending having been in the prior home 2 years.

On a primary residence, you have nothing to worry about until you hit $500k (for married couples, $250k for single) more than the original purchase price + major improvements + selling costs.

You'll need to log in to post.
