So, I had to do a writeup on the Lexus RX 350 F. It was like pulling teeth. I can appreciate, and actually have some fondness for the wee Yaris, because it's honest about what it is, but damn, I have a hard time with Lexus.
They remind me of replicants.
So then, I got thinking about poor Data and his attempts to acquire some humanity with the emotion chip transplant, and it reminded me of Lexus and their F-badges... which helped immensely in forcing this one out.

Nice review, but then I'm certainly not in the market for one.
Nicely done! Very thorough and readable review. I've always thought if I came into a lot of money and completely lost my mind, I might conceivably buy a Lexus RX. They look better than 99% of SUV's. But after reading your review, I'd probably end up in a Porsche Cayenne!

Thanks. :-)
I did the Porsche World Roadshow last week. I'd already driven the Cayenne across Alaska a few years ago, so I knew that they're pretty capable. But we lapped those buggers on the big track, then took them offroad. A serious trail with steep descents and huge ruts. On street tires!
Much as I like the powertrain in the Turbo S model, I liked the GTS on track better. It was more balanced - the Turbo S got really squirrelly at speed and it was definitely a pucker moment when I felt it get a bit light going up the long straight.
That was a great hook to hang the review on! It kind of reminds me of how sometimes having to sit through a really painful movie could work Roger Ebert into new heights of creativity to describe where it went wrong.

I love his reviews.
R.I.P. Roger, I really miss reading your tweets too.
The IS300 and LFA aside, I've never wanted a Lexus.
