Shipping problems are berkeleying up everything
Trying to smuggle in some replacement camber plates on the cheap, ordered them as soon as I got the news that I needed them, but it looks like they're going to arrive a few hours too late...need to ship them around the world some more and/or pay 100% duty on them
Then I just got news that some replacement parts for my Samurai have been delayed again and I will likely miss more than an entire season of offroad TSD because of it. It's been in the shop almost constantly since Kim Jong Il was alive.
And the 'rolla, my last driveable car, feels like the front end is about to come disassembled on me while I'm driving (due to at least one cracked camber plate and a repeat of a problem with a shifting LCA bushing - seems like the problem is with the chassis rather than the arm or bushing since those have been changed), and also needs to go into the shop for the swap. Can't do that while I have nothing else to drive. Alignment's still kind of messed up and eating through my Star Specs which would be hell to replace.
Can't borrow any family's car any time soon since they're all going into the shop for work while they're travelling. I've been thinking about renting a car or buying something cheap to DD but between the costs of the 'rolla swap project and my always-crappy job security I really shouldn't risk it. Still I'm checking rates right now...ouch.
I just keep telling myself that gearheads are worse off in Cuba and Catalina Island, Dominica and a few other tiny islands...but it doesn't help that much.
