In 2003 these Dutch folks sold their house, sold their belongings, quit their jobs, bought an old landcruiser and have been traveling the globe since. They make money by writing for magazines and selling postcards.

http://www.landcruising.nl/ <-- be prepared to stay there for a while.

I salute you crazy dutch people... You are living the dream

I have always wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail end to end non stop. Then turnaound and hike back home. Maybe when my house is paid off. http://www.appalachiantrail.org/site/c.mqLTIYOwGlF/b.4805401/k.8865/About_the_Trail.htm

I could get away with something like this as I don't have any worldly possessions. Hmm, have a little student loan but that could be paid off.

My friend Roy spends a month and a half trekking across NZ every year, he works 6 months at McMurdo.
