A house! Actually I've owned it for about a month now, but as it was a foreclosure, it's been a disaster, so I'm just now ok with posting photos. Mind you they're from my terrible little waterproof Fujifilm, so the quality is poor.
My new garage I'm going to fill with motorbikes:
It didn't come with a fridge, so I HAD to buy this awesome Samsung fridge...
But of course SWMBO can't have unmatching appliances, so out came everything else:
The red is the old color, the green the new. Man, I thought I'd hate that ectocooler color, but it really works.
The PO's had some...interesting color theories, so we've been repainting like crazy. Very GRM though, we've gotten a ton of mistints for pennies on the dollar (5 gallons of a tan for $20!)
I'll come back with more in the daytime when my stupid camera actually works.
Congrats! looks very nice

Very nice! I see you're only a few hours south of me in Omaha. What did you learn from buying a foreclosed house? I have been tossing this idea around for a little while now.
Jealous of your driveway and garage.
SO envious of your nice garage, and kitchen, and siding, and paved driveway.
Enjoy the painting! Congrats
Congrats! Looks pretty nice. I'm on the market for a home, but were looking for homes built around 1904-1914. Almost had one with a four car garage. Sad times. But its great to hear you have found a winner.

1) The bank will attempt to berkeley you.
2) Just about everything is dirty, and what's not dirty is broken.
3) I really hope that's brown crayon on the wall and not E36 M3.
Other than that, it let us buy way more house (almost double) for the money. The closest comp was about $20,000 more, but was smaller and doesn't have hardwood in the kitchen.
Please note this wasn't MY winner, I was pulling for the renovated 1950's house with a detached 6 car garage...with a lift.
Awesome!!! Congrats! Fyi, cars go in the garage, bikes go in the lean-to on the back, kitchen, whatever. Your neighbors already hate you

I made sure to be in too-low a gear as I rode each bike into the neighborhood. Got to give them a heads up, you know?
Awesome digs!! The garage space

McMansion foreclosure FTW.
I'm sure the neighbors are ready to shoot themselves due to what that did to their property values, but it looks like you've got a great house/investment.
Best wishes with it.

Congratulations! Deeply jealous of the three-car garage and driveway. If you'd gotten the six-car with lift I'd probably just start bleeding out my ears on the spot.
I wonder if such a thing exists in my part of the world...

congrats maing! that's a nice crib.
to gamby: OTOH, it's no longer vacant and overgrown with weeds, and the neighbors will appreciate the obvious care you put into it.

Not sure how I feel about moving to Silverton, but that's a neat site! It's actually also a lot of house for the money. I guess that's the upside of leaving Portland proper...
Thanks!

Why don't they ever finish the drywall in the garage? How hard is it to roll on a coat of primer at least? And that space above the garage door is great for storage.

Congratulations! Excellent purchase and work.

Awesome. Very cool acquisition!

Yeah, the Realtor was like "this is in really good condition for a foreclosure" as I was wading through 4 years of dust... Massive props to buyers of foreclosures in lesser conditions.
Subie = Check. FJ = Check. Omaha = Check. You need to join the Omaha Subaru club, if you haven't. Best friend is the founder. BTW, party at your place?
