I am getting really tired of the crappy diesel performance forums I've found. I'm in the middle of a conversation at a Ford diesel performance website (for cyring out loud) and I'm reading two pages of an exhaust discussion in which several members are trying to tell me that I need some "backpressure" to avoid hurting low end performance.

Anyone know some good diesel performance forums?

http://www.thedieselstop.com/ is pretty good, fairly level headed folks on there. Probably still has a few of "those" types on there but a lower idiot to good ratio.

Is it possible to hurt low end torque on a diesel? It amazes me to see people who think turbos need backpressure, whether gas or diesel.

Ah, the old "back pressure" thing seems to never go away.

Here is a pretty decent one.

which site? dieselstop, which sucks since they sold out. powerstroke.org? powerstrokenation.com? Which ever one isn't owned by those E36 M3head Canuks, VerticalScope, is probably the best option, which I think is PSN.

That is actually the site to which I was referring. I've had nothing but headache over there in the last year. It used to be wonderful.

Yes, they NEED backpressure! That's why top fuel dragsters have all those bends and restrictions in those tiny pipes!! I can't believe you didn't know that.

I was tempted to go register over there just to stir the pot. But you usually can't tell "those guys" anything.

Well, at least I know it has gone downhill. I haven't been on there for quite a while so I didn't know.

I also found dieselbombers.com. Seems like a bunch of knowledgeable folks with a sorta GRM feel. There is a fair amount of tech and hacks instead of "what's a wastegate" BS.

I have been on nwbombers.com for many years. Mainly focused on Cummins stuff but all brands accepted. Great group of people who know their stuff and go out of their way to help each other. Jeff
