In reply to Woody:

My neighbor has a flattie in a 49 Ford in his shed. It's about 75' away from my garage with the Eurpoas. I have a tape measure and camera, want me to do some investigation for you?

That would be a hard sell, but for a surprising reason. See, Dave actually bought two Europas brand new; one Series 2 and one Twin Cam. I don't think that he ever expects to get inside one again. He's the one who keeps reminding me that neither of us would fit very well in an early Ford truck cab.

Too fun. I grew up in Olathe, still live in Kansas City. I've never seen a Europa here before.

Yes. Good drivers are $10-$15k, fully restored cars rarely break $20k. Those engines need major head work every 40kmi to the tune of a couple grand, and the US version was choked down to begin with.

And quite frankly, most people find them to be ugly, or at the least, downright weird looking.

I know of two, one is silver (almost looks metallic and one is a John Player Special). Had never seen or heard of this one until I ran across this ad. I used to think they were ugly, but for some unknown reason have started to grow on me more. If I didn't already have too many things going, I would strongly consider it.

I used to think they were ugly, but over the years I've grown to appreciate the form-following-function aspects of the styling. Plus, a Europa is about as close to a mid-egine exotic as I can hope to own some day...

In reply to Swank Force One:

I know those are probably 16" wheels, but damn if they don't look like dubs on that car.

They are actually 17x8s. I think 16s would be just about perfect on that particular car.

Fortunately, I have 2 now. Otherwise, that thing would be in my garage.

One of my high school teachers bought one new back in 1972 or 1973. All I can remember is it was green, and in a high school parking lot full of Chevys and Fords it sure stood out - it wasn't the sort of thing you normally saw in rural Minnesota at the time.
