Jimmy Johns is running a customer appreciation day today. Subs for a buck! Figured I'd pass it on. Grassroots Lunch.

Have fun standing in line forever to save $4 or $5 bucks. Jimmy Johns is good and they are freaky fast but last time they did something like this the line was across the parking lot. Lunch rush!

I think you read that wrong. Fine print reads: "Sales tax will be assessed at the point of sale. Applies to Sandwiches 1-6 and JJBLT only, extra charge for wheat bread may apply. Limit 1 per person. Good for in-store purchase only (no deliveries), at participating locations."
Sandwiches 1-5 have meat (well, one has fish). 6 is the veggie. The JJBLT is a BLT.

Doubt it could take more than 10 minutes, even with the line across the parking lot. They're not kidding when they say subs so fast you'll freak.
They are advertising a window of 11am-3pm for the $1 deal. I'm thinking about eating lunch toward the tail end of the period to hopefully beat the rush.
I'm planning on giving it a shot around noon. The store near work is never busy at lunch so I'm hoping it isn't too crazy.

Rita's Water Ice around here offers free water ice on the first day of spring every year. People will stand in line for an hour to get a stupid $1.79 squishie for free.
Stood in line for 2 minutes, then saw a friend walk past who asked if I wanted to go get sushi across the street.
Looked like it would have been a 15 minute line from start to sandwich, which isn't horrible. I'll try to go back around 2:45 to grab dinner.
Debbie Downer, I'm sorry guys. But I frequent there enough and we are close enough that they'll bring us a free box of samples to our office.
So instead of JJs I drove another mile or two, talked with my wife during the ride and bought $3.75 worth of tacos.
Son-in-law, a former JJ manager, helped his brother, a JJ manager (different store), prep for today.
They were baking bread, slicing meats, and cutting vegetables until 6am, this morning. They started yesterday morning, I think. Ugh.

Really, that's not too bad. I've probably waited that long at the local slow-ass McDonald's when it WASN'T busy.
So, I guess it doesn't make much sense for me to drive 33 miles to the closest Jimmy Johns just to stand in a long line to save a few bucks but waster a couple hours and a couple gallons of gas.

yeah the line in north olmsted ohio was 150 deep outside waiting in the rain at 11am. for a mediocre slightly better than subway sandwich. we walked through the line, into moe's, and ate some badass tacos instead.
Passed the local one on the way to lunch at a much better place today. Line was about 3 storefronts long. I'm not doing that for a mediocre sandwich, no matter how cheap it is.
