Bass player for Soft Boys, David Bowie and how I know him through, Thomas Dolby, passed away from covid-19 complications late Thursday.
This hurts Thomas, as has helped us promote a beer that we brewed to benefit Healthy Harbor's Waterfront Initiative, frequents the distillery side of things and is a professor at the Peabody Institute so we frequently find ourselves talking music, sound engineering and even speaker setup. When I was in some of my lowest places he reached out to some now mutual contacts about keeping me engaged in music, even when my abilities to be able to play suffered. An effort that I'm not completely sure that I would've made it through without. Seeing a friend grieve without being able to provide a hug and to be able to cry with them, the inability to provide a shoulder to cry on is the absolute worst.
