Out of curiosity, what wore out on it? I had a rock hard twin mattress from the mid 80s to the late 2000s. When I got rid of it, there was nothing wrong with it other than it was a twin mattress.

It has become quite uneven over time, some areas have very low spots, and it doesn't seem as firm as it used to. And I wake up sore. It was a very inexpensive mattress when we bought it, I think we paid $200 at Costco for a Queen size?

Of course it could just be that I'm 15 years older!!!

We bought a king size "flippable" from Original Mattress factory about 8-9 years ago. Advertised: American made heavy duty components, high quality this that etc. Flipped it regularly like they said yet one side is now like sleeping in a hammock. Neither Mrs. drainoil nor I are heavyweights. I'm subscribed to this thread as we will need to replace soon as waking up with back aches is getting old quick.

Another data point. I bought a "cheap" mattress from Amazon, part latex, part 'regular' foam, we use it in the RV. $129 for an 8" thick one, come in 10 and 12 too. Its very comfy. Im a side sleeper if that makes a difference.
